Cut

A well-cut diamond appears brighter, more brilliant, and more lively. Even a diamond with excellent color or clarity can appear dull if the cut is poor.

The quality of a cut is based on:

  • Proportions
  • Symmetry
  • Polish
  • Light performance

Excellent and Very Good cuts typically offer the best brilliance and sparkle.

Color

The Less Color, The Rarer The Diamond

Diamond color measures how colorless a diamond appears.

The grading scale begins at D (completely colorless) and progresses toward Z (visible yellow or brown tones).

Color Scale

  • D–F: Colorless
  • G–J: Near Colorless
  • K–M: Faint Warmth
  • N–Z: Visible Color

Colorless diamonds are rarer and generally more valuable.

Clarity

Clarity refers to the tiny internal inclusions and surface blemishes formed naturally during a diamond’s creation.

Most inclusions are microscopic and invisible to the naked eye.

  • FL: Flawless
  • IF: Internally Flawless

  • VS: Very Slightly Included

Carat Weight
